Cajuput is a medium to tall tree of the myrtle family with thick, papery bark, silvery new growth and spikes of white flowers. It grows in Southeast Asia, New Guinea and northern Australia, often in swampy land.
Its leaves yield cajuput oil, known in India as Kayaputi taila. The oil is traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Southeast Asian balms and rubs for joint and muscle comfort and as a warming aromatic.
