Indian sorrel, or creeping woodsorrel, is a small, delicate, creeping herb with clover-like leaves of three heart-shaped leaflets, small yellow five-petalled flowers and slender capsules that burst to scatter seeds. It grows in moist, shady places, lawns and gardens throughout India, including Kerala.
The whole plant is used. Ayurveda knows it as Changeri, a sour herb traditionally used in digestive preparations such as Changeri ghrita. The leaves are sometimes eaten as a sour green.
